A great advice!!!

A great advice!!!

I talked with many members who are posting spams in our group. I realized that these spams
were posted using their own account without their knowledge. This shows weyanes are
accessing most members’ account including their passwords. It is because most members
do not know how to protect their accounts from hackers. Please be advised to take such
issues very seriously and protect your privacy as possible.
1. Please change your password to protect your privacy
2. clean up all data and cookies on your browser whenever you logged out.
3. don't use fb apps to log in to your account from now on
4. Use any other security precautions to protect your privacy.
The following points talk about internet security. Please read them and try to understand and
use it. Thanks.

I. Three major security points

1. Using proxy sites

There are many free proxy sites that will be listed online in a daily basis. Just search “free
proxy sites” on Google search. A user will not be seen as facebook user rather browsing
another site serving as a proxy. Since it might be blocked on the gateway once it is known to
be a proxy site, just like the pro-democracy website have been blocked, you will need to
search a new ones every day or so.

2. Using tunneling software

There are lots of them like Ultrasurf, gpass ,http tunnel. These are not very complex to use especially when they are the types that automatically configure themselves upon installation. If they don't automatically configure themselves, a little explanation on how to configure ports on browsers and applications will be needed. We are always here to do that, by the way.

3. Using VPN (Virtual Private Network)

These are used when high security is needed. Most of the time VPNs are commercial but there are a few that can be used for free, for instance Open VPN. Configuration will need some explanation.

II. Additional security points

4. Never set your browser to remember your pass word

5. Do not open any attachment of documents or pictures sent from individuals you don't know.

6. When you attach documents make sure it doesn't carry your identity with it (anonymous
installation of Microsoft office can help in such instances.)

7. Beware of key loggers and spams, specially, while using internet cafe. Updating your
antivirus on a daily basis is advised.

8. Try to connect to the Internet using your cell phone or cellular modem/PC Card

9. Always try to use a wired connection in hotels, offices, organizations, since they might have
some secured tunnel for their own business purposes.

10. Always clean any type of data files; such us Temporary Internet files, Cookies, History,
Download History, Form Data, and Passwords; you can access these settings from “Internet
Options” in your browser.

11. Using Dial-up connections might help, instead of high speed internet.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for any assistance on the above listed security issues.
Thanks.
