One of the Zone 9 bloggers Abel Wabela, who tried to speak in a court last week got charged today for contempt of court.
On May 24, 2015 when the zone 9 bloggers and journalists had appeared to court, Abel requested to speak. However the judge denied him chance telling him to ‘behave in the court’. Abel, deprived of an opportunity to express himself, got emotional and said back to the judge "You behave yourself".
The judge immediately charged him with contempt of court and today sentenced him for four months of imprisonment. However considering his emotionality at the time, the sentencing was removed with a two year precondition. If the court finds Abel committing the same offence with in two years, the sentencing will be effective immediately.
Abel is one of the six zone nine bloggers who has been in jail since last year April 25, 2014 along with other three journalists. The bloggers and journalists are charged under the anti-terrorism law.
