Maid found hanged in employer's kitchen in UAQ

A maid hanged herself in the kitchen of her employer in Umm Al Quwain.

UAQ Police said the body of the Ethiopian maid was found hanging by a rope from the ceiling of her Emirati employer’s home on Friday afternoon.

The Ethiopian is believed to have committed suicide, according to police.

A senior officer at UAQ Police said the maid’s employer informed the force after one of the family members found her dead.

Police moved her body to a hospital in UAQ for an autopsy.

The force said they are investigating the incident to find out the reasons that prompted the maid to end her life.
