ወደ አማራ ክልል ቻግኒ ከተማ መጥተው በግል ክሊኒኮች እየታከሙ መሆናቸውን 

አስታማሚዎች የፍኖተ ነፃነት ምንጮች ከስፍራው ዘግበዋል፡፡ ከፍተኛ ድብደባ 

ደርሶባቸው ቻግኒ ከተማ እየታከሙት የሚገኙት ግለሰቦች አቶ በለጠ መንግስቴ፣ 

አቶ ጥላሁን ገበየሁ፣ አቶ አቸነፍ ወንዴ የተባሉ ተፈናቃዮች ናቸው፡፡ በወረዳው 

ከ5200 በላይ ግለሰቦች መፈናቀላቸው የሚታወስ ሲሆን እስከአሁን ሁሉም ሙሉ 

በሙሉ ወደ ነበሩበት አልተመለሱም፡፡ የሄዱትም በስበብ አስባቡ ችግር ላይ

የአንድነት ፓርቲ የአዲስ አበባ አመራር አባል የሆነው ወጣት ብርሃኑ ገረፋ ሐምሌ 22 ቀን 2005 ዓ.ም. ሳሪስ አካባቢ የፓርቲውን በራሪ ወረቀት ሲበትን በ1 ደህንነትና በ6 ፖሊሶች በህገወጥ መንገድ መታሰሩን ፓርቲው በተለይ ለፍኖተ ነፃነት አስታውቋል፡፡

ወጣት ብርሃኑ በደህንነት አባሉ በመሳሪያ ሰደፍ ጀርባውንና ጭንቅላቱን ከመመታቱ በተጨማሪ ፖሊሶችም እጁን ጠምዝዘው በቦክስ ግራ ጉንጩን መመታቱ ተጠቁሟል፡፡ በእስር ቤት ውስጥ አንድ ቀን አሳድረው ካንገላቱ በኋላ  ሐምሌ 23 ቀን 2005 ዓ.ም. በመታወቂያ ዋስ መለቀቁ ታውቋል፡፡

ወጣት ብርሃኑ የፀጥታ ኃይሎች ሲይዙት እጁን በካቴና እንደወንጀለኛ አስረው ሳሪስ አቦ አካባቢ በሚገኝ ፖሊስ ጣቢያ በእግር ከወሰዱት በኋላ ወደ አቃ ቃሊቲ ፖሊስ መመሪያ ወስደው ማሳደራቸው ታውቋል፡፡

BEIRUT: An Ethiopian woman was arrested Tuesday at Beirut airport after customs officers found drugs hidden in her luggage.

Customs officers confiscated 6.6 kilograms of khat hidden in the woman’s luggage, a security source told The Daily Star.

The woman, whose name was not released, was arriving from Addis Ababa, the source said.

She was referred to the anti-drug bureau for interrogation, the source added.

US AIRLINES FIND PINCHED WIRES ON 787 TRANSMITTER AFTER ETHIOPIAN AIRLINE’S FIRE

Two US airlines disclosed issues with the wiring on their Boeing 787’s emergency transmitters, the same part of the plane that is getting close scrutiny after a parked jet burned earlier this month.

United Airlines said last Friday that it found a pinched wire during an inspection of one of its six 787s. Earlier, Japan’s All Nippon Airways found damage to wiring on two Boeing 787 locater beacons. It flies 20 of the jets. The inspections were mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration for US airlines after the tail of an Ethiopian Airlines 787 caught fire while parked at London’s Heathrow airport earlier this month. UK investigators said the only thing in the tail section with enough power to fuel a fire like that was the emergency transmitter. That’s a metal-cased, battery-operated radio the size of a loaf of bread that activates in a crash to help rescuers find a plane.
The FAA said last week it would require U.S. airlines to look for “proper wire routing and any signs of wire damage or pinching,” and to check the transmitter’s battery compartment for signs of heating or moisture. It issued a formal order on Thursday. The European Aviation Safety Agency issued its own order on Friday.
A wire could short-circuit if it’s pinched by metal and the metal cuts through the wire’s insulation, exposing the part that carries electricity.

Ethiopia's Ambassador in Ankara Wirtu said terrorists were enemies of life, peace, stability and democracy and Turkey provided stability in Somalia for past two years

ANKARA

Ethiopia's Ambassador in Ankara Mulatu Teshome Wirtu has said, "What was the Turkish Embassy doing there? Helping Somali people return to their normal lives. Terrorists are enemies of life, peace, stability and democracy. Terrorists don't like tranquility."

Wirtu evaluated the attack on the Turkish Embassy in Somalia and Turkey-Ethiopia relations to Anadolu Agency.

Defining the attack on the Turkish Embassy as "unacceptable," Wirtu said terrorists aimed at ruining relations of friendly states.

Stating that people resuming their lives under normal conditions wouldn't be involved with violence and illegal activities, however, unemployment, poverty and lack of education helped terror organizations survive.

Wirtu said the destiny of the state began to change following Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit and added, "Turkey's helping hand has provided stability in Somalia for about two years. Somalia is unable to stand on its own feet without the help of the international society. Support needs to continue for the stability of Somalia."

- Turkey-Ethiopia relations

Emphasizing the upward trend between Turkey and Ethiopia's economic relations in the last decade,Wirtu said the trade volume between the two states was around $300 million.

Wirtu also said the most important factor in developing relations was Turkish investors and added they especially expected investors to come to Ethiopia for the textile sector.
